Many years ago my mother started growing an African Violet from a slip from another plant that she had nurtured for many years.

This plant was moved from one city to another, re potted, moved from one table to another table, one house to another, one province to another and then to yet another. When my mother passed on, this plant came to live with me and was once again moved, nurtured, cared for, and loved.

Until this morning I did not realize how this legacy has moved and has continued to bloom and grow through the love and caring that it receives through our family connection.

This plant was given some nutrients to help it to flourish, however, the nutrients were not what the plant required and so it’s leaves began to droop, turn brown and die, however, the resilience of this plant is astounding……It grew another beautiful plant that is now thriving, growing and blooming in the same pot that it’s predecessor occupied, and the plant is so similar in the way it blooms and thrives on sunshine, nurturing and love.

What is it that we can learn from one small plant?

For me today it was simply to never give up and that we are all meant to bloom and grow, just as all of those who have gone before me who are me have done!  Thank you Creator, we are all one!

Peace, love, light and blessings!
