A STORY OF BRAIN TRAINING AND PERCEPTION

A Story of Brain Training

Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with many people who are highly developed academically or intellectually.  The intellectual person operates from very sophisticated brain training and a lot of times, they tend to have not integrated how this information impacts their lives mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  The pitfall of brain training is that there always has to be a right or wrong, and intellectually, there is always a means to back up their rightness, through providing more facts and information to validate their being right in the outside world, in order to be socially acceptable to others.

As I began writing this I received a telephone call from a friend who was running into some difficult situations with her father.  Her father comes from a family of sophisticated brain trained individuals and this man, her father, always needs to justify his position by providing information to anyone who will listen to ensure he is right and the rest of the world is wrong.  When he was growing up this is how he learned to survive in his family.  He has a very strong need to be liked and accepted only for the information that he can provide to justify his position, whatever that position may be.  In reality (inside) he is a spiritual, sensitive, kind and caring individual, who loves his family, friends, people, animals, the earth and all that the earth provides.  When he starts moving in the direction of providing information to prove his all rightness in the world, he tends to become a controlling and aggressive person who has taken a firm stand on an issue and he will maintain this position to the detriment of himself, everyone, and everything that is involved.

I have had the opportunity of working with this individual in group situations, learning about animals, connections and relationships with the animals that assist human beings to understand how animals can sometimes be our greatest teachers.  He is eager to share and he radiates an overwhelming amount of generosity and warmth in helping others.  When he is with animals his understanding and connections to our earth are immense.  So what happens when the brain training kicks in?  He puts it simply:  “It’s like running around in a squirrel cage, and not being able to stop”!  Many of us today get caught up in our squirrel cages trying to find all of the answers that will ensure that we have it right.

Thank you my friend for so openly sharing your squirrel cage with all of us who can learn from it!

Peace, love, light and blessings!
